NEW PATTERN / Fernwood Cardigan

Friends, I've been waiting a very long time to share this pattern with you. According to Instagram it's been exactly two years in the making!! Many swatches, prototypes, and pattern revisions later, I'd like to finally introduce you to my newest pattern, the Fernwood Cardigan

One of my favourite design elements is the deep v-neckline. Finished with 1x1 ribbing and subtle shaping, it looks fantastic worn open or buttoned up. The fit of the cardigan is comfortably oversized and the large patch pockets add to the cozy casual vibes of this everyday sweater. The super bulky yarn makes this a surprisingly fast knit. I've also taken great time with the pattern to include line by line instruction so that it's easy to follow and no guess work is involved while shaping within the all-over stitch pattern.

The gauge used to create the wonderfully squishy textured fabric is intentionally relaxed but with enough structure to hold it's shape within the larger garment. Blocking is essential in unlocking the amazing drape of this fabric at the recommended gauge. It's so comfortable to wear and easy to throw on over absolutely anything — I hope that those of you who decide to knit a Fernwood Cardigan, love it as much as I do ♥

I've already cast on another, this one is for my daughter. I'm making her a size 32 using Lion Brand Re-Spun in the colourway Evergreen. I love this colour SO much, I may have to steal this smaller version from her once it's done.

I also plan to cast on another for myself, this time I'd like to use a luxury yarn from my LYS as a special treat. I think it would be fun to knit-along together (WIPs included)! If you're interested, let me know.

Thank you to all of the tremendous support for this pattern so far. I truly appreciate it and cannot wait to see what beautiful Fernwood Cardigans come off of your needles ♥

Happy Knitting!
