SweetGeorgia Yarns / Welted Cowl

SweetGeorgia Yarns
recently added a new base to their line of amazing yarns and I was dying to work with it. When Felicia asked me if I'd like to submit a design for their pattern line I jumped at the chance to try out Silk Mist.

A few years back I designed a light weight scarf called Motley and since then it's gotten a lot of use. It's made from Kidsilk Haze and I love how such a whisper thin fabric can be so effectively warm and cozy. My favorite thing about the scarf is that when I'm not wearing it I can scrunch it up and stuff it in my pocket. We get pretty mild winters here on the Island which means it's easy to stay active outdoors all year round. I like to wear my Motley when I'm hiking because it fits perfectly inside my zipped hoodie and can easily be stashed once I get warmed up. My mom made a small Kidsilk Haze scarf for Elsie and I wear it running in the winter months.

So as soon as I laid eyes on the new Silk Mist I was dreaming of more light weight accessories. I'm really happy with the way the Welted Cowl turned out and I hope you like it too. I can honestly say it was extremely difficult to ship the sample off, I wanted to add it to my wardrobe and wear it everyday.
The best part? The pattern is FREE!

Happy Knitting!
