Off the Needles / Marian in Rasta

A long, long time ago I designed Marian as a Christmas gift for my Mum. When I was yarn crawling in Vancouver for Yarn Harvest I fell in love with a Marian sample that was hanging in Urban Yarns. It was made of Malabrigo Rasta and it looked amazing.

During my last visit to Knotty by Nature I noticed they carried Malabrigo Rasta so I decided to treat myself. What I really wanted was something as colourful as the sample I had seen but apparently variegated Rasta is so unique and gorgeous it's difficult to keep it in stock so I settled on this yummy chocolatey colour.

I used up the entire skein and was able to knit this pattern up (cast on to bind off) at our Pub Knit Night... that should tell you something about the simplicity of this knit, my choice was strategic and it was the perfect drinking companion :)

I am very, very happy with the yarn, it was a little pricey but the result is so soft and luxurious. I think I'll keep my eyes open for a colourful skein, I wouldn't mind making another.

The pattern is free and you can download it HERE.
