Modern Sewing / the Wiksten Tank

My girlfriends and I knit together weekly but we also sew together monthly! My sewing knowledge is limited but with each project I learn a handful of new skills and techniques. I really enjoy making clothing, and this month I chose to make the Wiksten Tank.

I thoroughly enjoyed this pattern, I found it very easy to follow and the resulting tank is extremely comfortable and easy to wear. I will definitely be making more of these to wear through the summer.

I think one of my favorite things about this pattern were the finishing techniques. Firstly, there aren't any exposed seams, the instructions use a french seam to enclose all of the inside seams. And secondly, the written instructions for finishing the neck and armholes were fantastic. Applying bias tape is always something that gets me a little turned around and I end up having to search YouTube for videos to help me through it. Jenny Gordy's minimalist instructions were so easy to understand and really simplified the process and made the steps so much clearer to me. I think I'll use this pattern as a reference from now on when I need to jog my memory on how to sew on bias tape!
